I know you got lots of feed back on FB, but I think having just the streaming and using Redbox is a great plan for your family. We switched our plan to 2 DVDs and streaming. Jim and I like DVDs and Daniel likes streaming. Same price as before, so no harm no foul as we don’t need three discs anymore.
We went to just the online streaming of Netflix (I’ve heard they’ll be doing away with their dvd/bluray programs completely in the future anyway) about a year ago. We don’t miss the dvd’s at all. When we want to watch something newer, we just use PPV or buy it (it’s only $14.99 to BUY most blu-rays when they first come out – which is less than the two of us seeing it in the theater anyway). Amazon and iTunes are good solutions too. With iTunes and Apple TV, you can stream it right to your television.
