Probably like most homeschoolers, we visit our library weekly. I love to read, but lately I haven’t found anything about which I’ve been excited. Until last week. Last week I discovered Mr. Darcy’s Diary and Mr. Knightley’s Diary by Amanda Grange.

I can’t speak for more in the series (Capt. Wentworth, Edmund Bertrand) as I have not read them. But the two I read were wonderful! I enjoyed a glimpse into our hero’s thoughts and actions. In the case of Mr. Darcy, we start to read his diary just as he sends Georgianna to Ramsgate.

Also, my friend Kate suggested Elizabeth Gaskell (sorry – Amazon is the easiest for me to link). I had watched the movie “Wives and Daughters” and have “North and South” on my Netflix queue, but I haven’t read them yet. So, I’m waiting on them from the library.

What are you reading?

4 Thoughts on “Reading

  1. Currently I’m not reading anything… I’m a little weird in the fact that I would rather buy my books than check them out. Sadly, all my books are still packed in boxes. We want to build shelves in the classroom, but there is always something we need more.

    Hugs!

  2. I’m reading Margaret Truman’s “Murder At The National Cathedral”. She has written a ton of murder mysteries, all set in/around Washington DC.

  3. I am reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver and I just finished In An Instant by Lee Woodruff (and her hubby Bob) about their life and his injury in Iraq. And right now, I have a ton of non-fiction books that I am rotating through on the bedstand…cooking, nutrition, sewing/quilting, knitting (of course!) and computers.

  4. How Funny you mention Mr. Darcy’s Diary! I just finished reading it and really enjoyed it. Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors so this book had a comfortable familiarity yet it was fresh because it showed everything from a different angle and gave insights into what Mr. Diary was thinking and feeling that I found quite interesting and at times profound. I didn’t know there were others in the series. I will have to look for them.
