Tonight, J2 is helping the other kids in the youth group do the serving for our church’s Harvest Home dinner.  The rest of us have to stay home because of illness. 🙁

I realized this is the first time he’s worn a REAL tie so I took pictures!

…or, “Why I don’t bake all that often”.

This year we (and by “we” I mean “me”) are doing more baking for Christmas.  It’s quite a list of people we’d like to bless this way.  So I’m going to try to do a little bit each weekend.  And, here are somethings I learned..

  • My food chopper is broken.  (wonder when that happened and why no one told me??)
  • My mini food-processor processed an army man and is out of commission.  (boys!)
  • I could use an orange or lemon zester – my grater just doesn’t seem to do the job.
  • My son can’t put on a band aid for NOTHING!  Learned this one after trying to zest an orange on my grater.
  • 4 mini loaves = 1 regular loaf of bread
  • My mixer is not really up to the task of mixing more than one loaf of bread at a time.
  • If you don’t have enough liquid in the mixing bowl, the flour ‘poofs’ out at you.
  • Pretty sure I shouldn’t have used orange juice concentrate – I read the recipe wrong.  It will either be really good or I’ll be forcing it on the family!
  • The list of appliances I now want:  A bigger mixer, a food processor and a zester.  So much for saving money! 😉
