I really enjoyed this parody – However, I didn’t know who made it or if they’d be ok with me sharing it here. Then, someone on my homeschool group shared the following!

Tim Hawkins is a comedian who wrote the parody song “A Homeschool
Family”. Tim and his wife play the parents in the video, and four of
the kids are theirs – the rest are friends. (snip)

He has a DVD that has a hilarious bit on parenting and another on
homeschooling. His comedy is totally family friendly.

I hope you will check out his site – he is pretty funny!

Last night I skipped out on the Boy Scouts (feeling a bit of guilt!) and went to a WACHE meeting of the year. It was the deadline to register for membership. To be honest, I was feeling like there was little they could offer me. I was only homeschooling one child – who’s special learning style precludes any co-op classes and he doesn’t like the park days. Then with the conflict with Boy Scouts I can’t make the monthly meetings, that was it. I was a member in name only.

But the new leadership is doing some fun things! Last night was alot of fun! If they were all like that – I wish I could make more of them!

We had a guest speak share about Letterboxing. My friend Robin has been doing it for about 3 weeks with her family and it has sounded like SO much fun! We got lots of info last night and I can’t wait to try it with the boys! If you do it – please let me know!!

Here are some links she shared with us – hope you enjoy them!!

On an unrelated topic – anyone want to keep me accountable? Today I need to do the following (but all I want to do is climb back in bed!!) in addition to my normal chores, homeschool, work:

  • Clean the tub  (moving to tomorrow)
  • Put everything back under the kitchen sink done 9:40am
  • Clean out the bathroom cupboards done 3:00pm
  • Buy two cupboard locks for the bathroom (tomorrow)
  • Email my Tiger cub scouts and plan this week’s meeting
  • Take J1 & J2 for haircuts (done!)

Now I REALLY want to go back to bed! And, if I remember correctly – I’ll have our home spotless for this home study but then we’ll just sit in one room and talk and get paperwork. However, I still MUST have this house perfect by then…wouldn’t you?!

I just realized that today is a pretty BIG day for us!

  • J1 is home! We toyed with the idea of having him finish this week (Friday is the end of the quarter), but worried he’d just be a distraction to the other kids. So, he’s here! At 9am we’ll start ‘school’ – mainly he’s going to write letters to his friends at school – and at 10am we are going to go try and get more of the curriculum we need! I’m also hoping to squeeze in a trip to the skate park as a sort of ‘hurray-for-homeschooling’ celebration – but the weather says rain!
  • I’m going to call the foster care certifier. I plan to say “My name is Amy and you should have gotten paper work from ICPC last week RE our adoption. What can I do to bring my baby girl home as soon as possible?” I think. I don’t know. I’m pretty nervous about it! Please pray for us today! I still haven’t heard from the foster mom – emailed her a week ago, texted her 3 days ago. I’m hoping “Princess” is doing well. I hate not knowing! At least we are getting closer to being ready here at home!

Prayers on both of our BIG deals is definitely appreciated!
