#1 Family Post – Well, this one is easy “The News” – yes, I just posted it yesterday but it is so, well, familylife changing! 🙂

#4 Something I love Post – KNITTING!!! On this post we went on a yarn crawl and I got to introduce some of my knitting friends to Theresa 🙂 and show off my newest FO (finished object)

#5 Anything I want Post – Wow – just one?? As I looked through the archvies I saw sadness and joy and struggling and on and on and on. (how can you all stand it?!?) And, then I stumbled upon this quiet night – it was so quiet I still remember savoring it and remembering I needed to savor it. It started by being worn out and grumpy and ended with peaceful reflection and prayer. Quiet is something I crave and pretty rare around here!

Now, I tag three of my “old” friends: Theresa, Ruth and Julie J.

The News

I finally got a call back. I was so positive that I knew what was going to be said (“The judge gave her more time – we’ll get back to you in 3-6 mos) that I almost didn’t hear what was said!

The judge agreed to the adoption plan and said she could be moved to California (to US!!) before the parental rights are terminated. This will be a “legal risk adoption” like our others. The birth mom has 10 days to contest this ruling and have another judge rule which would delay our adoption but not placement with us.

So, what happens next is the caseworker schedules a committee to approve us as adoptive parents (it’s how they do it in Oregon) which will happen in mid/late February. Then we would need to start transition. We’ll need to find comparable services here so that her treatments will remain the same.

I’m wondering/hoping that we can bring her home sometime in March.

I’m sort of in a daze. I’ll probably have more to say later! 😉

Today’s the Day

Today court is being held.  I don’t know what time but at 4pm PST I will call and try to get through to the caseworker.  If I can’t reach her today I’ll have to try tomorrow.

Even though I’m hopeful – I am preparing myself for another delay.  I don’t want it – but I guess it’s a way to protect myself.  I know many people are praying and I’m relying on the fact that the timing will be perfect even if it’s not what I’m hoping for.

I’m surprisingly calm today.  Seeking refuge in the Lord as needed.  Thank you for your continued prayers on our behalf!

Could it instead be that I’m fickle? Would that be better?!

Remember 3 days ago when I said…

While I did join Secret of the Stole 2 – I’ve decided I’m not going to knit along. I want to make sure it will be a pattern I’ll be happy with when completed. Too much work to find out you don’t like it. I guess I’m too practical to enjoy the mystery part of it!

Well….I started it today! I’m about 2 froggings and 19 rows (+ lifeline – I’m learning!) into it. I’m using the Knit Picks Shadow in Oregon coast that I have on hand…but I’ll need one more skein. I was going to order it to day (thought I’d put it in the middle where a slight color change might not matter) but I got distracted. 🙁

So, I’ve got my boxers for mindless knitting and this for concentration! I need to put it away now because I’m finally going to watch “Northanger Abbey” that I taped last night! And, I joined The Complete Jane Austen KAL! Adding the graphic to my sidebar next!
