1. As I’ve changed my daily routine, I’ve found it a bit harder to blog. But here I am! Waiting for dinner to cook, and enjoying the quiet. HA! NOT! There is no quiet in this house at 5pm on a Friday! lol
  2. Today I blocked one of the shawlettes I knit for Mother’s day.  I don’t think my mom will read this as she is at my Sister’s and I don’t think my MIL reads my blog.  So, here is 1 of 2 (blocking the other one tonight, I’ll try to post pics tomorrow:gmaoshawl
  3. My oldest is home for Mother’s day…and when I say home, I mean he’s here in town….somewhere…and we’ve gotten to see him once or twice! 😉  He promised me he’d be here tomorrow night for a BBQ with his grandparents and spend ALL of Mother’s day with me. Hope so!
  4. My Hubs gifted me with new dry erase markers for my board! YEAH! Look for next week’s verse to be MUCH easier to read!  They come attached to magnets so you can put them on your board.  However, on the packaging, it says to store them horizontally.  They hang vertically! LOL  Someone messed up!
  5. My family just left to go to the grocery store – I believe they are buying supplies for a special Mother’s day breakfast! Yum!

So, that’s my 5! If you click on the graphic above, you can read other random Friday posts! Have a great weekend!

Wow – I didn’t post a single thing yesterday.  Well, I would have, but I removed my Twitter stream from my blog (you can see it in the sidebar – or at the bottom of the page if you are view this on a mobile device – and I’m still active there) in attempts to make myself do a real blog post – something more than 140 characters.  But there are days where more than 140 characters at one time is just too much for me.  Yesterday had highs and lows and fun and tears.

One new thing in our life, my in-laws will be coming over twice a week to eat a meal with us – the family is hoping to relieve some of their stress regarding preparation/clean-up and I make a big meal every.single.day for my family so why not?  I hope it is enough to help.

The Bible study is going and starting my day in the Word/Journal/Prayer really helps me be intentional all day.  Learning some new things about myself and God too!

In the homeschool department, J2 and I have 7 more days of school in front of us – summeritis is hitting us hard!  But we are persevering to finish what we intended to do.  Yeah for us!

For the kiddos who are going to public school, we are waiting to hear the results of Sissy’s testing to determine what next year will be like.  Hoping for a modified K/1 opportunity for her.  J3 is so ready to be done with p.s.  Hubs talked to the principal about the bullying we are seeing and assures us that one more ‘incident’ and a certain kid will be gone. I am praying that incident won’t involve my kid.  J3 is definitely more on the homeschool band wagon that ever before!

OH! Another thing I am trying to incorporate in my life (more of that intentional stuff) is to add Scripture memorization.  I posted a picture on instagram yesterday of my current verse (let’s see if this works)

6f0c4f3ab7f011e29e1622000a9d0ec7_7If you can’t read that (I need new dry erase markers) it is Proverbs 16:3 “Commit it to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”  Trying to memorize it, trying to live it!

What about you? Memorizing anything?  Being intentional? What does that look like in your life?

MPM-Spring

Another week where I couldn’t get to menu planning until Monday. Maybe this is my new normal.  Here is this week’s plan:

  • Monday – Pork chops with rice
  • Tuesday – Hubs meeting – Chicken Teriyaki in Crockpot with broccoli & rice
  • Wednesday –  Hamburgers on the Grill and pasta salad
  • Thursday – Knit Night –  Chicken stroganoff
  • Friday – Roast Pork Shoulder with roasted veggies
  • Saturday – Stir Fry Chicken with Inlaws before Saturday night church
  • Sunday –  Oven-fried Chicken

Thanks to I’m An Organizing Junkie for hosting the Menu Plan Monday!

How busy you ask? So busy that it is Sunday night and I still haven’t watched Doctor Who! Scandalous, I know!

Seriously, it was a good but full weekend. Some highlights included:

  • Eric and J3 got to see Iron Man 3
  • I was able to completely scour the tub (yeah I lead an exciting life) but it was so clean and sparkly I realized I have never enjoyed a bath in this house! Wha?! Almost 5 years and I never even considered it…and then I remembered it was the only bath and as we have lots of kid, I realized how late I would have to stay up to achieve an uninterrupted bath and I decided long soaks are overrated. Lol
  • shot a fun video of my hubby being silly.
  • I was able to knit about 10 rows on my sweater when my MIl dropped by for a chat
  • we went to church on Sunday morning instead of Saturday night. It was great to see some Sunday folks, but the crowd is too big for me. The sermon was right in line with some learning I have been doing on my own…love when that happens!
  • but the high point of my weekend was taking our oldest out to lunch and then a drive up into gold country. Had some laughs, prayed for him over lunch and in my heart as he shared what was going on in his life. And I took some pictures of flowers that I really hope turn out! I will try to post them tomorrow.
  • came home and prepared a meal that we ALL shared…it has been awhile since we all ate together and it was so nice!

Anyway, that is my weekend….Hope yours was just as good!
